Dear Visitor,

on this page we would like to inform you about the Chevrolet DragRacing event, which will be organized on the International Airport of Satu Mare, on june the 11th , 2011. We will continue the tradition of international stages by organising the 2011 edition on an even higher level, bringing everything what is spectacular and fascinating about cars to the airstrip of Satu Mare.

What does Chevrolet DragRacing 2011 has to offer for the visitors?

The main objective of the organisers is to realize and event which will offer every visitor special moment and even the possibility to compete in a legal championship:

1.    International drag race: the confrontation of the 250 pilots in different categories, from 5 different countries and Romania will guarantee the public an extraordinary rush, never seen before in this domain. The competition itself, altough mentioned in singular form, will be structured like this:

The only Romanian stage in the Central European DragRacing Championship (CEDC) in which the fastesc cars of Slovakia, Hungary, Moldavia, Croatia and Romania will compete for points and the CEDC title.

Stage in the Romanian National DragRacing Championship, under the badge of As. Dragracing Events, in this stage the fastest cars in Romania will battle for points in 12 different categories (Street and Pro)

Satu Mare Cup: "home" competition, with the purpose of ofering the competitors from Satu Mare to battle for the title of fastest driver of the state.

Unfolding of the event: bookings start on the 1st June and end on the 11th of June, 12 o'clock at the Airport. The competitors, after rigorous inspections, will start the training runs, qualifications, and after the night-runs the duels between the best drivers will take place as well as the CEDC superfinals.

2. Elements of show and entertainment:

For this year we are preparing a real "parade" of shows for the public. Just like in the last years sunt men from the international elite will overwhelm the public with demonstrations of acceleration, and will offer spectators never before seen or heard action in Romania. 1000hp dragster action, never seen in Romania, streetfighter show and acceleration demonstrations on a drag-bike will offer unforgetable moments for the thousands of vistors.

Alongside this element, the party atmosphere will be completed by an artificial beach built on the airstrip for this occasion and an afterparty with the most beloved DJ-s from Romania and Hungary: DJ Vali Barbulescu, Sterbinszky and DJ Yaang.

One thing is certain, until this moment we don't know any other event as intens and varied in the region as the event offered by Chevrolet DragRacing 2011, july 11th, Satu Mare.

The main partner of the event is Chevrolet West representative, official car of the event is the all-new Chevrolet Aveo. Official Partners: GarantiBank, Yokohama tires from GerBog, Mobil1 from Lubexpert, the event is ensured by Omniasig, our partner in recreation is the Thermal Beach from Carei.

Satu Mare International Airport is made available by County Council of Satu Mare with the aim of popularizing the County tourist attractions and the airport services to a wide audience.

CEDC History

It began a few years ago. The idea came from seeing a number of failed attempts at oganizing a european drag race series. The causes of their failiure were obviuos to us...they were organized as a business, with profit as their main objective. The CEDC on the other hand, is a promoter and racer driven international championship, focused on mainly racing, and finances are only a means to having good races.
At the end of the 2008 season we had a meeting to evaluate the race season. The idea of the Central European Drag Championship was conceived at this gathering. Our main idea was that a serious race series will make it easier for racers and promoters to attract sponsors, and would benefit the spectators bacause they would get to se the best cars in their home region. 2009 was the year of organizing and preparation. We contacted the promoters with whom we had
worked for years, and invited them to a meeting to discuss our ideas. They all responded positively and we decided to start the series in 2010 with 3 participating countries Slovakia, Romania and Hungary. We made up the rules, set up the categories, consulted with each other and the racers as well. The result was a sucessful 2010 season which organizers, spectators and sponsors alike were very pleased with. All the fastest cars raced at all the races, so the races were equally high quality at all venues. The final points races were only decided at the very last events, making it an exiting and close racing season. All participants are happy with the results of 2010 and this will assure the race series will continue next year as well. The sucess of 2010 also gained other countries promoters attention, and we are currently negotiating with them to bring the race series to more countires, to more venues and gaining more spectators for the CEDC, and hopefully make it even better then before. See you all in 2011.
